Seeing as wordpress have made it so much easier to post photographs, here is a selection from the last few weeks or so. Nothing great…if you can’t devote hour upon hour to street photography then you can’t expect much back. Cheers!
robin van persie was almost in this photo. too love struck to click.
oldham street
the start of something good?
the guy on the left was not there as i pre-visualised this one…
obligatory christmas markets visit. you try so hard to have fun, but it never happens.
i once took a good photograph in this window. you might know which one i mean.
i have an obsession with these coats. only ever seen them in england and canada. seem slightly more relevant in canada somehow…?
this man is always on that bench. always. must have 10 photographs of him.

There is one other thing. I am trying to reply to Claire Atkinson who did this urban photography, but WordPress isn’t showing a reply to her on this page (so far), it is saying, “Reply to Gregg”. I’m not sure who Gregg is, but, if my reply goes to the wrong place, could you repost on Claire’s blog on this page? -I don’t use WordPress much, usually too busy working, and don’t have the time to learn all the FLDs about it. (Oh, FLDs is an acronym that stands for: Fucky Little Details.)
Laughed at the linkin park snap – funny!
I love your blog here, love the photos. I’ve been working on a new “The City”, in a form called the Photo Essay. Well, visually it is just a collection of life in the city, some street scenes, some aerial views, etc., most outdoors, and with fashion models, some indoors. I don’t know if you’ve been following my photo collages, and read my small comments there, but, in case you haven’t, here’s the short version of it: The whole City photo series was started by a man who’s deceased now, the late Jae Vrai of Boulder. When my friend Jae Kamel learned that he had passed, he went and downloaded basically all of his facebook albums, and saved some really great photo work for all of us to see. So, the late JV posted the original, what he called, photo essay, The City. Then (while he was still alive) Jae Kamel posted an album to match it, called The City – A Reply; and for convenience in my work I call them City1 and City2. So, here’s the news: Jae Kamel has just recently finished re-editing and re-organizing that album (again), and has uploaded the new one to his facebook account (or will soon). And he asked me if I wanted to make some collages from it, and of course I said yes… and I’ll be uploading those new collages today. So, then, we share this interest in urban scenes and street scenes – you, me, and Jae Kamel. BTW if you wanted to know his surname’s Lebanese, and means ‘Peace’, and rhymes with “lapel” or “repel”.
thanks henry. i’ve bookmarked your blog to take another look tomorrow when I have less FLD’s to deal with. cheers!
you have really great eye for street photography! Greetings from Bolivia!
I really love your work, Claire – you have a great eye. Thanks so much for visiting me at The Wine O’Clock News – much appreciated!
you have some splendid shots in ur blog….congrats!!!keep up the good work!!!cheers…!!!
foto yang sangat menarik dan sangat berbicara untuk mengabadikan dalam street dokumentasi fotografi. nice to know you….
Fantastic work ! I love it all !!! Really developed eye.
Manchester- home of Joy Division, Nick Hornby’s favorite football team, and the airport my daughter uses to visit her boyfriend in Mersey (?) I love English things. (Reading Dickens for first time, right now.) And oh, yeah, Downton Abbey 3 on tonight !
Thanks for visiting. Your work has a professional feel for one so young- great things in store for you.
Diana
Looks like you spend a lot of time on the move.
Some really excellent shots here Claire.
thanks, glad you liked
Slices of life – love the idea of the randomness of each shot!
You’ve certainly had fun. Love the deckchairs
Awesome shots
Loved the clicks. I love how I feel like I am there. One of the many wonders of photos.
New to your space! would love to come back for more
what the..no comments ?
Anyway, I’m really curious as to which coats you’re talking about, do you mean the sweater ? (I live in Canada)
yeah the fleecey sweaters with huge, garish animals on them. i saw lots in toronto. where in canada do you live?
“really didn’t have her down as a linkin park fan”, me neither at first glance, but on reflection..
Some great pix here but a few too many for me to take in with a single post. I answered your earlier post with the question about how often etc. But from the ‘likes’ I guess most people are happy to have so many.
understandable!
As an avid Arsenal supporter I got a little sad when you mentioned RVP in this post
when we signed RVP i hurt a little inside for the arsenal fans..
Excellent collection, Claire! What an eye for the unusual on your streets…!
Interesting photographs. Thanks for the tour.
Love it!
Great. LIke you Claire I have just clocked the new gallery features, so much better! Great shots, love the last 2. I’ve got a balloon seller somewhere, I’ll try and post it soon.
Saves so much time doesn’t it? Don’t know why they didn’t do it sooner
I really like your photography. Some beautiful impressions.
– good old times…
Funny that I had quite a similar style taking pictures while living in Manchester
Looking forward to see more of your work!
Great series of shots. It makes me want to know more about the people.
A lot of these made me smile – thank you.
did you stick back to the 50
These are making me feel a little homesick. Good stuff.
that’s what i like to hear!
Thanks for sharing. I like the transparent umbrellas, and the 12 € sunset through the bus window shots. Do you have more shots like the man on the bench? I like the idea of capturing something in repetition.
Lovely shots. Good to see you blogging again. Not so good to see you’re a united fan!
Thanks.. and ha! Who do you support then?
You are truly skilled. Seriously good. Adverbs aplenty.
appreciate your kind words..thanks
love the pictures of OIld Trafford… I don’t like United but I do love football
Don’t put yourself down, mate. Some of this stuff is very cool. I especially like the kids peering through the security fence at Old Trafford. It’s a new take on the classic street picture of boys scaling a brick wall to see game for free.
I like that one too, thanks. I’m so down on my work lately..I should just stop whining and get out more!
I’m very jealous of your keen eye for the unusual moments in everyday life! These photographs make me want to walk to the streets of my home town and try to do the same!
Lovin’ the wide angle! Great diversity Claire Tilmans
sutton! happy new year
Ha, I was at the Christmas markets today… I so agree with your comment! I saw the Santa sign holder last week and almost got a picture with his head on, but he took it off to chat to someone. Removed some of the magic.
