Claire, this is wonderful – all the little bits of a story in there: the back of the purple rain-spotted coat, the tilted umbrella, the plastic bag, the words “Mother” on the urn at the right…it’s a perfect shot. I find nothing spooky about it, just reality.
So interesting that Wolfie thinks this picture is spooky. To mean it speaks of a hundred stories of life and death and relationships gone by and I automatically wonder what the person by the graveside is thinking. Did they know the deceased? Was it a close relation or did they just happen to be passing by and like reading tombstones? So much mystery and yes, the start of a good novel but not necessarily a spooky one.
I agree with what you’ve said. I write horror stories and love gothic images so my imagination went there with this image. I meant spooky in a good way! haha
Wow! That is a potent picture. There are a bajillion story possibilities hiding in there.
I’d totally use that for the cover of one of my horror novels. Nice catch and…spooky.
This is a powerful picture, I feel drawn in and the drips of rain are on my shoulders.
This reminds me of all the people I miss. Lovely shot, remembering is good even it if hurts sometimes.
Absolutely *love* this. It’s simply loaded with potential; the stories and the songs and the photo responses are practically bursting at the seams.
(Did she know you were there?)
Thank you. Our eyes met a few times in the reflection
